| Welcome to Sunday |
| At 5.00 p.m. on Saturday evening we gather for an
informal liturgy to which everyone is welcome. This is a short service
which reminds us that the Lord’s day has begun and should be
kept holy. We light a candle as a symbol of Christ the Light being
present among us and read the Gospel of Sunday to prepare us to receive
God’s word. This is followed by the sharing of wine or grape
juice and the breaking of bread giving thanks to God for the fruit
of the earth. At the same time we give thanks for the blessings of
the week that has passed and with thanksgiving pray for the needs
of the coming week. Children are welcome at this short service that
lasts about 25 minutes.
